Business Studies Industrial Visit to Dublin

Students in Sixth Form studying A Level and BTEC Business Studies visited Dublin on Tuesday 8th May 2018. They enjoyed a tour of the Butlers Chocolate Experience, visiting the chocolate museum and saw the production line at the factory. They also had an opportunity to feel like a master chocolatier and decorate a chocolate novelty! They attended a workshop at the Tayto Theme Park in association Largo Foods, learning about the Group’s growth, marketing and corporate social responsibility. Pupils had time to visit the attractions at the complex in the afternoon.

Careers and Higher Education Exhibition

We had a fantastic day welcoming exhibitors from a wide range of higher education authorities and different occupations. Many thanks to our exhibitors who were extremely helpful. Well done to all of our pupils who conducted themselves in such a professional manner!

Did you know that a child contacts Childline every 25 seconds? A £4 donation could pay for a counsellor to answer a call.
Last year the Childline volunteers in Belfast and Foyle counselled over 46,000 children and young people, but they can only answer 3 out of every 4 calls. You can listen to the Sound Recording below for more information. Or you can CLICK HERE to download the audio file.

Hunterhouse Equestrian Team Success

Saturday 13th January proved to be a lucky day for the Hunterhouse Equestrian teams.

On her first day out on her lovely new pony Indie, Mollie Park rode a beautiful double clear round over a very technical course.

But it was the Blue team who stole the limelight… finishing with yet another zero score as a team, they were placed 6th on the day and this result meant that they were elevated from 4th to 2nd in the TRI Equestrian Schools league for the second year running. The team of Lucy Toombs riding Suzie, Indie Bloomfield Faiers riding Millparks Slievenagarragh, Sophie Lister Tinsley riding Ginger Spirit and Gilian Grogan riding Shadow, have jumped consistently well all season and as a result have well deserved this overall placing and the lovely prizes which accompanied it. They have now qualified for the All Ireland Championship in Mulligar in April.
