Community Centred

The school is involved in a range of activities and partnerships with schools and other educational institutions on a local, national and international scale. Through these links we are able to share best practice, develop still further the skills of our teaching staff and most importantly enrich the learning experience of our pupils.

Examples of our community-based work in this important area include:

  • Sixth Form pupils volunteer in the community: primary schools, special schools, charities, hospitals, residential homes
  • Charity Committee
  • Young Enterprise – social enterprise programme
  • Public speaking and debates
  • Applied A Level in collaboration with Belfast Metropolitan College
  • Music in the Community
  • Enrichment activities with a broad range of community partners
  • Peer Mentors – Sixth Form students help and advise Year 8 pupils
  • Primary School links – P6 pupils spend a day at Hunterhouse College
  • Link with the Co-operative College’s Enterprise and Business School Partnership Group
